1. General
This News in Slow® English Subscriber Agreement should be read in conjunction with our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. By subscribing to this program, you consent to all of these, and we reserve the right to modify them from time to time. You are responsible for reviewing them regularly to be aware of any modifications.
2. Responsibilities of Subscriber
By subscribing to News in Slow® English, you agree to provide accurate and up-to-date basic information about yourself such as your name and email address, and you will be asked to choose a username and password so that you can log in. The username and password are for your personal use only. You are responsible for protecting against unauthorized access to your password and your computer and for all activity that occurs on your subscriber account. Sharing login information or allowing another person to access this program by using your username and password is a violation of this agreement and may result in cancellation of your subscription. Subscriptions are not transferable.
You are responsible for obtaining any equipment and Internet service necessary to access News in Slow® English and for paying any fees for the equipment and service selected.
News in Slow® English will maintain the security of the personal information you provide, as described in our Privacy Policy, but News in Slow® English will not be liable for the transfer of any such information resulting from corruption of storage media, power failures, riots, acts of vandalism, sabotage, or any other event beyond our reasonable control.
3. Security of Personal Information
When you subscribe, you will be directed to Paypal® or 2Checkout, which will collect your credit card number and related payment information. Paypal® and 2Checkout have their own privacy and security policies of which you should be aware. In directing you to Paypal® or 2Checkout, our understanding is that these online payment systems are required not to use your personal information other than to process payment for the subscription services requested by you and they use standard industry security measures to protect your information. News in Slow® English and Linguistica 360® (the company that produces News in Slow® English) expressly disclaim liability for any liability that may result from inappropriate release of information by Paypal® or 2Checkout, and as a subscriber, you agree to hold News in Slow® English and Linguistica 360® harmless for any damages that may result.
4. Refunds
Please see our subscription Refund Policy.
If the News in Slow® English program becomes temporarily unavailable due to maintenance or malfunction of computer equipment or for any other reasons, we will not refund your subscription fee.
If you violate the terms of this Subscriber Agreement, we reserve the right to cancel your subscription and will not refund any portion of the subscription fee.
5. Subscription Renewal
News in Slow® English does NOT do automatic renewals. We consider it to be a bad practice. When your subscription runs out you will NOT be billed for another term. If you like our program and wish to stay with us, you will need to re-subscribe to our program.6. Ownership of Content
All information, text, images, audio, and other material in the News in Slow® English program (collectively, “Content”) is the property of Linguistica 360® (the company that produces News in Slow® English), unless otherwise noted. All Content is protected from unauthorized copying and dissemination by U.S. copyright law, trademark law, international conventions, and other intellectual property laws. If you wish to copy, distribute, re-publish or otherwise reuse any Content from News in Slow® English, you must request permission first from us by using the CONTACT US link. We reserve the right to make changes to Content to enhance our program without prior notice to subscribers.
7. Disclaimer
News in Slow® English IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS. News in Slow® English AND Linguistica 360® DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES WITH RESPECT TO THE PROGRAM AND WEBSITE SERVICES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES THAT THE PROGRAM OR SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED AND ERROR-FREE.
